Logging Project – Fraser, CO
Client: Private Landowner
Stand Type: Mixed Pine, Spruce & Fir
Objectives: Remove downed and damaged timber, selectively harvest standing trees, reduce fuel loading, and rehabilitate skid trails to improve long-term forest health and stand resilience.
Project Transformation
Before
After
The site was heavily impacted by a strong micro-burst, with dense blow-down accumulation and limited accessibility. Fuel loading was high, increasing wildfire risk and limiting forest regeneration across steep terrain.
Through phased timber harvest and selective removal, the area was cleared of damaged material and strategically thinned to improve spacing and reduce fuel continuity. The result is a safer, more resilient forest structure with improved access, enhanced sunlight to the forest floor, and long-term stability on slopes reaching up to 70%.
